Medical Examination Preparation
Medical Examination Preparation is our structured process for making every Defense Medical Exam as orderly, safe, and predictable as possible for both attorneys and injured clients. As seasoned RNs, we do far more than confirm a date and time; we build the exam on a stable foundation of accurate information, clear expectations, and organized documentation.
We begin with a detailed review of the client's medical history. During this one‑on‑one call, we clarify current symptoms, prior injuries, surgeries, medications, and functional limits so the information presented at the exam matches the records and the client's lived experience. This reduces confusion, misstatements, and room for the defense to question credibility.
Next, we prepare documentation for counsel. We help compile and organize key records, prior imaging reports, operative notes, and medication lists so the legal team can transmit a clean, focused packet. Our goal is to ensure that what lands on the examiner's desk accurately reflects the story you intend to present.
Scheduling coordination is handled directly with the client, counsel, and the examiner's office. We confirm logistics, parking, special needs, and arrival times so no one is guessing on the day of the appointment. For medically fragile clients, we pay particular attention to mobility, pain control, and rest needs.
We also provide clear guidance on client rights during the DME and conduct a personalized briefing on exam expectations. Clients leave that conversation knowing who will be in the room, what kinds of questions are typical, when they may ask for breaks, and what they do not have to answer. By the time the exam begins, both attorney and client know that the groundwork has been carefully laid.
